At Sakshum we are engaged in helping community and creating awareness. Sakshum is growing every moment and making a difference. Child Education: Sakshum is actively working in the area of child education. At present Sakshum volunteers are sponsoring 3 children's educational expenses at St. Isaac School, hafeezpet, hyderabad.
Sakshum is actively working with India Litracy Program (ILP) to help them improving the quality of education in govt and slum schools. As a part of this actvity Sakshum donated a computer to the Madhapur, hyderabad branch of ILP.

Eye Care I Care: Sakshum started this project to create awareness among children for their eye care and to have a healthy vision. As a part of this activity Sakshum volunteers goes from school to school (primarily targetting govt and slum schools) and do basic eye screening of students. Those identified with vision problems are then taken to eye hospital for further detailed diagnosis and a treatment is provided free of cost.

Light A Life: Sakshum Team started a new initiative to increase the awareness about Eye donation. Already 200+ people signed a pledge form and committed to donate their eyes. We are spreading the word and trying our best to help more and more people to be a part of this social cause.

Christmas Celebrations with 6 NGO's: Sakshum joined Satyam foundation and celebrated christmas with 6 NGO's kids. Please see the pics and videos here

Blood Donor Database: Sakshum's online database is now reached to 700 and is helping people in need. Every day 5-10 people get benefited because this database. Sakshum is spreading the word and the database is growing every moment.

Helped a disabled to get a job: Sakshum team helped Mr. Uma Mahesh from Vizag who is 60% disabled to get a job at Genpect, hyderabad. Please read about his own experience and other's comments here.

A Day with Don Bosco Transit Home: Sakshum volunteers spent a day with Don Bosco Transit Home at hyderabad. There were around 40 kids. We had lot of fun and educational activities with kids. We talked to Don Bosco staff and shared their experience. We distributed sweets to the kids and helped staff to serve lunch to the kids. Read more about our experience at Sakshum's blog.

Fun Fair @ Rainbow School: 23rd Sept, 07 it was a big day for Sakshum. It was the first active participation by Sakshum
volunteers. We participated in a day fair for street and
slum children with Anokhi Asha spastic society. You can
find some pics related to the event at the home page of
Sakshum. Their were around 150 kids who were entertained by around 40 volunteers of Sakshum. We organized game stalls, art and craft stall and other games like racing, musical chair, face painting etc. We served the kids food and snacks. This way we made our day and put a big smile on every face. |
